Indications

Measure numbers and percentages of lymphocytes in peripheral blood. Commonly used for: monitoring of HIV; assessment of immunity post immunosuppression; investigation of primary immunodeficiency. NB lymphocyte profiles can be normal in the context of these conditions – do not use for diagnosis of HIV or PID, history/clinical features are paramount.
