About Us

The Eastern Pathology Alliance (EPA) is a managed pathology network providing Clinical Biochemistry, Analytical Specialist Chemistry, Immunology, Haematology, Blood Transfusion, Andrology and Microbiology services to primary and secondary care providers across Norfolk and Waveney created in 2014 and was one of the first pathology networks in the UK.

Quality

EPA quality comprises of 5 full time positions and several departmental quality leads and quality support who work within their discipline but also have quality responsibilities.

Training

The EPA supports staff in achieving their career goals as far as they are willing and able to take them. Staff can join the trust as band two Support Workers and can complete the IBMS certificate of achievement parts 1&2 and can progress to a level four Associate Practitioner post. At band four staff can go onto complete the apprenticeship in Healthcare Science over four years to become a Biomedical Scientist.

The EPA performs a number of clinical trials, these could be organised by one of the three acute trusts that EPA serves.
