Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn (QEH)

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is a district general hospital on a single site serving a population of approximately 260,000 residing mostly in West Norfolk but with some overlap into the counties of Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire. Apart from a few market towns such as Kings Lynn and Wisbech, the area is largely rural.

The hospital provides all acute specialities except for thoracic, cardiac and neurosurgery.  The Pathology department receives specimens from acute specialities, Renal Dialysis Unit and from the surrounding General Practitioners, several of whom specialise in minor surgery and endoscopy.

The Pathology department provides a staff screening service to Local Industries and specimens are also received from the Sandringham Private Hospital situated in the grounds of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
