FAQs

How long do send away tests take?

On average most referral tests take around 2 weeks to come back from the date we receive them in the laboratory, but some can take up to 6 weeks. They will be reported on ICE as soon as they are available.

Why can’t we provide results to the general public over the telephone?

Results are only available to healthcare professionals. This is due to patient confidentiality. If a patient calls the laboratory for their own results we will ask that they contact their GP surgery who will need to call us themselves and follow the correct procedures.
